Privacy Policy

​Japan Association for Cellular Agriculture (hereinafter referred to as “we”, “us”, “our” or “JACA”) recognizes the importance of your personal information, and has established this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) and will operate this Policy in the following manner in order to properly collect, use and protect your personal information as well as manage the security of your personal information.

  1. Collection of personal information

 

JACA may request you to provide your personal information. In collecting your personal information, we will prescribe and notify you of the purpose of use of your personal information in advance, and properly collect and use your information to the extent required for achieving such purpose.

 

  1. Purpose of use of personal information

 

JACA will use the acquired personal information for the following purposes of use:

  1. so we can contact you and provide information to you;

  2. so we can answer your inquiries;

  3. so we can report on our activities concerning information collection and policy recommendation;

  4. so we can inform you of progress meetings and various study sessions;

  5. so we can provide your personal information to third parties in accordance with the methods described in this Policy; and

  6. so we can carry out our business related to the purposes of (1) to (5) above.

 

  1. No disclosure/provision of personal information to third parties

 

JACA will properly manage the acquired personal information, and will not disclose or provide any personal information to third parties, excluding the following cases:

  • When the prior consent of the identifiable person has been obtained

  • When the disclosure of personal information is required under laws and regulations

  • When there is a need to protect the life, wellbeing or property of an individual (including a corporation), and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the identifiable person

  • When there is a special need to improve public wellbeing or promote healthy child development, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the identifiable person

  • When there is a need to cooperate with a national government organ, local government, or person entrusted thereby with performing the functions prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the identifiable person is likely to interfere with the performance of those functions

  • When the disclosure of personal information is requested by a court, prosecutors office, police, tax office, bar association or an organization with equivalent authority

  • When all or a part of the handling of personal information will be entrusted to a third party to the extent required for achieving the purpose of use in order smoothly carry out JACA’s business

  • When disclosing personal information to a person who bears confidentiality obligations against JACA

  • When otherwise contacting participants concerning various committees, progress meetings and study sessions hosted by JACA

  • When disclosing personal information to the successor of business in the event of business succession due to merger, business transfer or any other reason

  • When the disclosure of personal information is permitted under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations

 

Please note that we may provide the acquired personal information to JACA’s member companies located in foreign countries upon obtaining the consent of the identifiable person. Details of the recipients are as follows.

  1. Security control measures

 

In order to prevent unauthorized access to personal information and prevent loss, damage, falsification or divulgence of personal information, JACA is taking necessary security control measures such as the establishment of a maintenance/management structure of security systems, including the introduction of management tools and security software, and the thorough implementation of employee training.

  1. Procedures for complying with requests for disclosure, etc.

 

JACA will comply with requests for disclosure, etc. of personal information (referring to requests for the notification of purpose of use, or the disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use or suspension of third-party provision of personal information or third-party provision records). If you wish to request the disclosure, etc. of your personal information, please contact the “Information Desk” indicated below.

In order to further improve our efforts for protecting personal information, comply with Japanese laws and other guidelines applicable to the personal information in our possession, and deal with changes to such laws and other guidelines, we may amend the subject matter of this Policy without prior notice. If we amend this Policy, we will post the amended version of this Policy on our website.
